John was a Giant at Urban Engieers. In case anyone ever wondered if John made a difference, he did. He made much more than 'a difference'. He was a huge positive force in our Construction Inspection Preactice as well as our CM Practice. He could always be counted on to be direct, be very candid when it was required, and put his arm around someone to offer guidance when the individual seemed lost.
John was a great man, who helped me in many ways to be a better man, father and manager. He always had time to talk and offer a willing ear and advice if needed.
John and I talked on March 1st and hoped to get together for a lunch with Leo but time and the Lord overcame our plans.
All I can say is that Jeanne and I greatly respect the tremendous and successful effort John and Marge achieved in bringing up such a great family, and I hope we can do the same.
John, I miss you and your counsel and I'm counting on seeing you when/if I reach the kingdom that I know you're in. And if I do, we'll have that Manhattan we talked about, and many more!
Love, Joe & Jeanne McAtee

My deepest condolences to Marge and the entire family. John was one of my mentors at Urban Engineers, Inc. and also a great friend. He sincerely cared about the people that worked for him and always made time to listen or offer great advice. I will always remember him not only for being one of the true leaders in our industry but more importantly for the type of person he was. It was a great privilege to have known him, and he will be truly missed.
