Shirley meant so much to Arlene and I! When I was her pastor at Pine Creek it was like she was my pastor!!! She was on spot so much. At a crucial Building Committee meeting, she challenged all the men by saying - "Look, I know I am the lone woman on the committee, but you men have to decide if you are going to build this building by faith or not - the time for talking and deciding is over!" The rest was history!!!!
She also babysat our first child, Hannah, and was like a Mom to us - since we were far from our own mom's.
The day she died I accepted a part-time Pastor position and she is one person I would have loved to have told that I was coming back in the ministry... I guess she was possibly the first to know!! Thanks Shirley for being faithful and kind! We have always missed you and now we join others in missing you and longing for the day we see you again! Everyone reading this - Shirley would want you right with Jesus so you can join our "reunion" someday!
