I’m so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. I always appreciated how he welcomed us to the Sea Isle neighborhood with kindness over a decade ago. He always asked about our family in a genuine and caring way. It was clear this was a reflection of how his own family was everything to him - I could sense this the first time I met him! I will miss looking across the street and seeing him waving and talking to people on their way to the beach. Even more so I will miss just sitting on his porch and talking … he always made you feel welcome. He was truly one of a kind.
With a sad heart, we offer sincere condolences to the entire family and pray that the good memories will give you solace.

Mr. D’Angelo, what a great loss on earth, we will miss you. You and Mrs. D’Angelo were vital roles in my childhood and all the siblings, Especially Suzanne. You have showed me what true family life is all about. Traditions, Laughter, Sarcasm and Hard work. Thursday and Sunday night spaghetti dinners-black olives and celery, along with that amazing salad dressing Mrs. D’Angelo makes. Friday night’s Dukes of Hazzard with pizza, 2 liters of coke, the fireplace crackling. Or burgers and cottage cheese (salt and pepper and pickles, too). Saturdays were a road trip up to Lafayette College to watch soccer games fallowed by that GREAT pizza Place. On Saturday nights, Anthony and I got to go to block buster and pick out the movie. Porkys 1,11,111 and Porky’s revenge or any movies that were funny and R- a must! Ur front yard hill that we sled on every time it snowed, sledding into the Christmas trees that u just planted. Having tea, sugar, and pretzels, before our next run. I remember the snowy day Damian was born, February 13th -we couldn’t sled that day. I was always staring out the window to see what Joey, Michael, Anthony, and Damian were doing in their bedroom room. They caught on, so they started mooning me. Donna and Suzanne Making theirs beds in the morning. Long Hots! Saturday lunches down the shore-The best and getting a chance to porch watch…that was fun, too! Did I get busted on for being a fixture, yes. However, I was always welcomed as you can tell.
Mr. D’Angelo thank you for taking up the trash can for my mom and always asking how my family is doing. Those are just a few things of why I will never forget Mr. D’Angelo. Thanks for the being a great neighbor. Family, Traditions, Home-life, and Hard Work were Mr. D’Angelo. Thank you, Mr. D’Angelo and Mrs. D’Angelo, for opening your home up to me. It will be hard not to see Mr. and Mrs. D’Angelo together. What an amazing Man! All I can say is Thank you.
Love, Deirdre.

My parents, Ray and Cass Verna, bought their house in Sea Isle across Pleasure Avenue from the D'Angelos in 1968. Our Dad passed away in 1993, and Joe kept close watch over my Mom for the next 22 years before she also passed away in 2015. I'll never forget Joe and his sons helping me by carrying my Mom down our steps and into my car, so I could get her to the hospital. Never. My deepest sympathies to his family. Marie Verna

We have a life time of memories living across the street from the D’Angelos in Sea Isle. My brother, sister and I spent many summers w/the D’Angelo children, now parents, on the beach and in our back yards. Joe (Mr. D’Angelo), and my Dad, Robert, were quite the pair and frequent dinner companions a long w/Carol (Mrs. D’Angelo) and Mom, Louise. Carol and Louise were the filters!
Later in life, after Dad passed away, Joe and Carol were amazing, and invaluable to me watching out for Mom. Even Donna was there helping Mom in our time of need! The D’Angelo families are always in our fond memories and in our prayers in times such as this.
Respectfully,
Joe, Cindy, Gigi, Bob & Lisa
