Obituary of Rosemary C Moran

Rosemary Christina Moran, 66 years old, of Philadelphia, PA and New York, NY, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rosemary was born in Philadelphia, PA to Hugh J. and Mary D. (nee Cullen) Moran on August 30, 1956. She graduated from Cecilian Academy High School and Fordham University, next working for 18 years in the field of educational publishing.  In 1999 Rosemary realized a long-held dream, graduating from Fordham University School of Law. Upon graduation she worked for over twenty years as a Child Advocate for the City of New York. While living in New York, Rosemary was a faithful parishioner of the Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola.  Rosemary loved spending her free time with the youngest members of her extended family. 

Rosemary is survived by her siblings, Joseph (Helen), Hugh, Mary Szczesniak (Leonard), Michael (Ginny), Nancy Egan (Michael), Ellen Giermann (Bruce), Paul, Philip (Annette), Christopher (Eileen), and numerous devoted nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  Included in her extended family are her godson, Andrew Delman, and dear friends Liz Davis and Bessie McKenna. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 820 North Hills Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038.  Visitation will be in the church starting at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.  For those who are unable to attend in person, a live stream of the Mass will be available at: https://qofpeacechurch.org/  Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Welcome Center, 728 East Allegheny Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134 or the charity of your choice.  Rosemary’s family wishes to extend gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rosemary’s caretakers at Keystone Hospice, and the many friends who offered their support.
