I am so sorry to hear of Helen's passing, in the Pennsylvania Gazette. I worked with her at WEFA, in 1984-5. Helen was one of the funniest, smartest, kindest, and most ethical people I've ever known. Unfortunately we didn't stay in touch, but I've often thought of her over the years. I was happy to read not only that she had a great career and family, but also that she kept up her swimming, golfing, and Jersey shore habits, and her connections to Penn. My sincere condolences to all of her family.

So very sorry to hear about Helen. I worked closely with her for many years. The two of us shared an office in the old FOC building. When we moved to an open floor plan, we would hold each other’s desks if one of us got in earlier than the other. She was not only a great work colleague but a true friend. She helped me tackle through the financial processes and always knew the best way to simplify things. We had some great laughs through the years.
She loved her life with Jill & Dan and was extremely proud of Jill’s accomplishments. Our daughters are the same age, but Jill was a year ahead of my daughter in school, so Helen always had some great tips. When Helen left AZ last year, I knew it was my time to also leave as I wouldn’t have her pushing me & helping me through it anymore. I’m teary-eyed just writing this and will miss Helen greatly. My thoughts are with Jill, Dan, and the rest of the family.

I worked with Helen at AstraZeneca for many many years. I was shocked to hear about her passing. Helen attended my retirement party just two months ago. I was so happy she made the effort to see me on my way out. She was a great friend and colleague. I missed her contributions after she left AZ. She always worked so hard to do the right thing. I know she adored her daughter because she would always ask my advice about having girls. (I have three daughters so I guess she thought I was an expert!). She was a wonderful kind person that will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Helen’s family at this difficult time.

My friend
I was so shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of Helen. I’ve known Helen since I was like 5-6 years old. We swam together and she was part of the almighty Brennan family of swimmers. Our paths continue to cross over the years, but only to be reunited in adulthood working together. Upon seeing me as a 30-year old grown man, she still called me “little Ricky Skelly” because, as she later told me, to her, I was always that tiny kid on the starter blocks. She’d always stop me in the halls and we’d catch up with gossip from the old neighborhood. It’s so hard to think she’s gone. She was an amazing person and will be missed by so many friends and family. RIP my friend. Rick

Anderson Family: We are so saddened by Helen’s passing. We had the good fortune of getting to know Helen the last few years through the Penn swim & dive team, as Jill and our daughter Anna are swimming together. We always enjoyed chatting with Helen in the stands for the meets and cheering on the Quakers. Helen also was great to work with on parents booster club matters. Helen was always quite modest about her swimming and Penn roots but her experience and insight on all things Penn and swimming quite fantastic. We have spent a fair bit of time with Jill, who is a wonderful teammate and friend and clearly takes after her mother so much. Helen and all of you are in our prayers, and we have made a donation to the Longwood Gardens in Helen’s memory. The Boeckman Family

Helen and I worked together for many years at AZ. I have so many fond, and often funny, memories of our times together.
I remember Helen mainly for her love and devotion to Jill and Dan. In addition she was incredibly intelligent and thoughtful. She could help us work through any issue carefully and effectively. Helen was a real professional. We were so lucky to be able to work with her.
I also loved Helen’s sense of humor. Once started, she could bring me to double over, usually with her quiet delivery. I will never forget the story of Jill and her school bus mishap.
Though we shared many years together, I wish we could have spent time with each other outside the challenges of work and family.
My heart goes out to Jill, Dan and the rest of Helen’s family. Jill brought Helen such pride and joy. I remember Jill as a smart, fun and kind little girl. Jill, your mom will live on through you. A wonderful lasting gift.

Helen was like a sister to me more than a colleague.
When I doubted myself , she reassured me.
When I achieved something, she celebrated with me , told me she was proud of her sister.
She is now and will always be in my mind as loving and supporting sister. I love her so much.

I had the pleasure of working with Helen at AZ for almost 8 years. She was an amazing lady. From her strong work ethic, love of family and her sense of humor, Helen was a delight to have as a member of our team. Jill and my youngest daughter are close in age so Helen and I bonded over the adventures of our girls going through high school and moving on to college. Sending love and strength to the family at this difficult time.

Dear family,
I just met Helen at Chris and Courts wedding. She came up and started talking with me for quite awhile. We had many a laugh and stories to tell. Then the last dance we were all out on the floor together. High fiving and having a great time. What a wonderful lady. As I have found all of the sisters to be. I am so sorry she is gone so early. Please take comfort in the new grandson who will be coming soon to make you smile again. All our love and prayers
