Obituary of Michael R. Dillon
Michael is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Ellen McCaffrey Dillon 03l11/2006, succeed by Brother William R Dillon Glenview Ill, Sister Kathleen Himan Willmette Ill, Children Michael, Anne Therese and Peter, six grandchildren: Carinne, Trevor, Tyler, Madeleine, Ethan, Warren and great grandchild Nadia and Emmarie.
Michael attended the University of Notre Dame Political Science BA 1964, MA 1966 ,PHD 1970; Lasalle University Political Science Dept. 1968-1985. He recieved the Lindbach Distinguished Teaching Award 1971 and was promoted to full professor 1978.
National Endowment of the Humanities Fellowships Duke University 1976, Princeton University 1979, Thoreau Lyceum/Harvard University 1980, University of Wisconsin, Madison 1984. Michael was credited with over twenty-five published professional papers and publications. News Election Service Director for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 1980 and 1984 Presidential elections. Temple University School of Law J.D. 1985. Corpus Juris Secundum Award for legal scholarship, Raynes McCarthy Binder Prize for legal research and writing. Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLC 1985-2007 litigation section environmental practice group, federal cases from RI, NY, NJ, to PA; From Washington Dc, FL, Missouri, to Tennessee; from TX, CA, to Minnesota, Ill, and OH.
Responsible for multiple in-house environmental publications Martindale Hubble ranking A+ in knowledge and in ethics.
Michael's Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill PA 19444.
His Viewing immediately preceding from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church;
Interment will take place immediately after Mass at Calvary Cemetery Conshohocken PA.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent in the name of Michael R and Mary Ellen Dillon to Ronald McDonald House, Philadelphia, Leukemia Lymphoma Society or Cradle Society Evanston Ill.
