William H. Walton, age 85, of Plymouth Meeting formerly of Summit Hill and Tamaqua died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Hospital , Philadelphia, PA.. William was born June 18, 1931 in Trenton, NJ. He is the son of the late Louis and the late Dorothy (Bacorn) Walton. He was the husband of the late Nancy J.(Brinich) Walton who passed in 2013.
In 1949 Mr. Walton was New Jersey's State Cross Country Champ in Trenton along with a record in the Mile Run.
He was a 20 year Navy Veteran serving in The Vietnam and the Korean Wars on a destroyer and also a mine sweeper etc. finally retiring in 1968 after serving in the Pentagon where he was in charge of the Air War in Vietnam.. Mr. Walton then went onto serve McDonalds and the Burger King Corp's. in Northern Pa. as a manager for over 25 years.
He is survived by one daughter: Darleen Thomas (Steve) of Plymouth Meeting, PA. and two sons: William J. Walton, Samuel L. Walton (Wendy); Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Besides his wife he was predeceased by a son Eugene and a daughter Deborah Walton and his four siblings.
The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Friday, June 16 at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Rd., Lafayette Hill, PA. 19444 Burial will be private
Calling hours will be Friday, June 16 from 10-11am at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
