Obituary of Louis J. Cissone Jr.

Louis J. Cissone, Jr.,81, from Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Philadelphia, PA and Stockton,NJ died Tuesday, October 11,2016 at home after a battle with cancer. Affectionately referred to as "Junior" by family members. Mr. Cissone is survived by his brother, Peter J. Cissone and his wife, Phyllis of Blue Bell, PA whose children are, Peter and his wife Cathie, of Limerick, PA; Marc and his wife Sue of Abington, PA; Andrew and his wife Shannon of Deerfield Beach FL and Maria (Cissone) and her husband Ramzi Benamar of Gwynedd Valley, PA. Mr. Cissone also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Barbara Cissone, of Ocean City, NJ and her daughters, Melanie Cissone and her husband Stephen Springer of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Wendy Cissone Kazickas of Doylestown, PA and Barbara's son R. Bradley of Ocean City, NJ and Louis's partner, Stephen J. Mayrosh; his aunt Carmella (Silvestri) Rizzo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph J. Cissone. Louis has nine grand-nephews, four grand nieces, a great-great nephew. Born on December 10, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Louis J. and Margaret (Silvestri) Cissone. Louis was raised in the city's Germantown section. He graduated from St. Joseph's Preparatory School after which he attended and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's University in 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged honorably in 1959. Early in his career, Louis worked as a Certified Public Accountant. Mid-career, he began working for Sun Company, INC. From then until his retirement, he was Senior V.P. and Chief Financial Officer of Sun Distributors, LP. St. Joseph's Preparatory School and St. Joseph's University are institutions that Louis held dear to his heart; he served proudly on the Board of Trustees. Having enjoyed for decades a home in Stockton, NJ, he was a member of the Hunterdon County Historical Society. On Saturday, October 22 nd a viewing at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm at Saint Helena Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA. Interment will be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Philadelphia.
