Obituary of Sonia Harantschuk

Sonia Harantschuk, 90, of Wyndmoor, PA, passed peacefully Thursday July 21 at St Joseph's Villa, Flourtown, Pa. Sonia is survived by sons Zenon and his wife Susan of Willow Grove, PA, Eugene Jr. and his wife Alicia of Wyndmoor, PA; two graddaughters, Joelle Faucette of Lansdale, PA and Kaitlyn Roedel of Buckingham, PA. She is also survived by one great grandchild, Jackson Faucette. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Eugene Sr. Born February 25, 1926 in a small town in the Ukraine, Sonia was blessed with many wonderful gifts including love of family, religious dedication, value of friendship and respect for her culture. She passed these gifts on to her favorite people in the world, her two sons. They were the apple of her eye and she loved them to the moon and back. Her granddaughters held a very special place in her heart. Their pictures remained prominently displayed in her home since they were babies. The family attended Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church where her sons also both attended Ukrainian school on Saturdays. Sonia and her husband were blessed with many wonderful friendships including the Swora family. These two families lived next door to each other raising their children together since coming to this country in 1949. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at the Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. There will be receiving from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with services immediately following.
