Obituary of James Allan Yocum

James Allan Yocum, age 88 of Blue Bell PA., formerly of Ft. Washington, died Friday (1/21) at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a Retired Regional Salesman For Becton Dickinson Medical Supplies Of Rutherford,NJ. Mr. Yocum was born in Wilkes Barre, PA, the son of the late Jesse and the late Mary Wardrop Yocum. Husband of the late Anne Marie (Johnson) Yocum who had died in 2000. Mr. Yocum was a graduate of the Kingston H.S. in Kingston,Pa. and had played football and was a finalist in his schools wrestling team for the state championship. He was US Army/Air Corpsman and served as a 2nd Leiutenant as an Army Medical Officer. Mr. Yocum was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill and was a past president of the Whitemarsh Lions Club and enjoyed traveling with his late wife. He was a former member of the Swedish Historical Society and was an avid Penn State Univ. football fan. He is survived by two daughters: Deborah Steiner(Leonard) of Souderton, PA, Liza A. Davies (David) of Reisterstown, MD *predeceased by a daughter Susan Gay Yocum 4grandchildren- Rachel Bowman (Steven), Douglas Steiner, Brian Davies(Lauren), Hilary Irons (Gannon). 2 great grand-Lilly Anne Bowman and Ethan Irons. The funeral service and interment were held privately.
