Rodgers, Robert, Jr. P.E. "Bob" Bob, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 12th surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his loving wife Antonette "Ann" (nee Hughes). Survived by his children – Debbie Rodgers (Paul Meyer), Bob (Pattie) and Gary (Deb); grandchildren – Bobby, Paula, Kate and Michael Rodgers, and his sister Ina Morgan. He was also predeceased by his twin granddaughters Christina and Jessica Rodgers. Bob was past Commander of the LuLu Shrine Legion of Honor. He served as 1st Lt. in the Korean War with 120th Combat Engr. Bn, 45th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Korean War Medals and the United Nations Ribbon. In his professional career, Bob worked as a construction manager for several multi-million dollar projects, including early construction of Penns Landing in Philadelphia and several testing, laboratory and office buildings at the former General Electric facilities in Valley Forge. He later worked as a construction manager for the Department of Energy at Princeton University, from which he retired in the early 1990s. Bob served as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Ambler and sang for many years in the choir at the church. In lieu of flowers, donation in his memory may be made to this church or the charity of your choice. His funeral service will be on Saturday June 16 at 11am at the Masonic Village Auditorium, 801 Ridge Pike ,Lafayette Hill, Pa.19444. The viewing will be from 9:30am-10:45am at the Masonic Village. A masonic service will start at 10:45am. The burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ambler or to the charity of the donors choice.
