Obituary of Benjamin Patrick Fiddler

Benjamin Patrick Fiddler, age 21 died Tuesday after collapsing during a workout at his home. Ben was a Political Science major at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA and just completed his junior year. Ben thoroughly enjoyed learning about Political Science and Economics and debating politics, especially with his mother, Lori. He was a 2013 graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Lafayette Hill, PA, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Ben was an avid swimmer who lettered all four years at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School and competed for and helped to coach the UMass Club Swimming team. In recent years, Ben also competed in triathlons and ran his first 5K race in which he finished second overall. Ben also enjoyed playing tennis and traveling to Madison Square Garden to watch boxing matches with his father, Tom. In addition to his parents Lori and Tom,, Ben is survived by his sister Julia, 16, and his brother Nick,14, both of whom also swim for Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Ben always followed his brother's and sister's swim meets while he was at college and regularly texted his parents for updates. Ben is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Helen L. Fiddler, his paternal grandfather, Dr. Jerry B. Fiddler and his wife Elizabeth Fiddler, his maternal grandmother, Joan Foss, and his maternal grandfather, John Foss and his wife Mary Foss. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Monday, May 23 at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Rd., Lafayette Hill, PA.19444 Calling hours will be Sunday, May 22 from 3-5pm at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. and Monday, May 23 from 10-11am at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church.
