Catharine"Kay" Kipe
Catharine "Kay" Missimer (English) Kipe, 92, died peacefully of natural causes Friday, March 18, at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.
A long-time resident of Plymouth Meeting, Kay was the daughter of the late Temple Jackson and Mary (Anderson) English. She was the wife of the late Edward "Ted" Kipe.
Kay was a graduate of The Baldwin School, Bryn Mawr, and the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Biochemistry. She was an active alumni of the Kappa Kappa Gamma fraternity. She spent many years as a homemaker, and retired from Upper Dublin School District. Kay was an avid world traveler and theatergoer, both of which she continued to enjoy after her retirement to Lancaster County.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan, wife of Larry Fuller, Palatine, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Kipe, Brownstown; two grandsons, Daniel Kipe, Brownstown, and Anthony, husband of Amanda Kipe, Lancaster; and two great-grandsons, Ian and Connor.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Kipe, Jr., and two brothers, J. Anderson "Andy" and Temple J. "Jack" English.
A quite memorial to be held at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Overlook Lounge on April 8th from 1:00 - 2:00 pm. Interment will be private at Washington Memorial Chapel on April 9. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Retirement Community 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17545 or to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org.
