I was paired with Don for a round of golf at Bel Air Country Club just one week before hearing news of his passing. In those handful of hours I learned what a wonderful person he was, smart, funny, modest, and honest. We talked about his love for his family and how happy he was living by the shore. Whether he played well or muffed an iron he kept a positive attitude and was an absolute pleasure. I left hopeful that our "good walk spoiled" was the beginning of a friendship that would last many years. I cannot imagine the loss you feel and can only offer the poor condolence that the the memory of Don lives on, not only in you and your friends and family, but also in folks like me around the country who had the good fortune to know him.

I didn't have the privilege to know Don for a long time, but sitting on a board that he advised, I can tell you from the two years that I knew him that he was the consummate professional and always a gentleman. Unlike a lot of people in his line of work, he seemed to earnestly care and he had no air of haughtiness about him like others I have run across in his profession. I looked forward to seeing and catching up with him at our quarterly meetings. I was shocked and saddened to hear this horrific news, and can only hope that his children, family, and friends can find a way to get through this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and we at Harrison Crane Service are all very sorry for your loss.

Please accept the condolences of everyone here at Plumbers Local 12 in Boston. We knew Don from his work with SEI. Please know that he shared many happy stories of your lives, whether it was fishing the beach or regular family fun. His job required lots of travel but you should know that through his stories of family adventures you were with him all the time. May those happy memories help you through these difficult days.

Dear Jen, Shane and Cole,
You have my deepest sympathy on the sudden death of your loved one. Even though I didn’t play much golf with Don at WVCC recently, he was always good for a laugh in the men’s locker house and certainly fit the definition of a guy’s guy. In his short time on earth the man has done more than most people do in a lifetime and will be profoundly missed. Rest assured that Don will always be looking out for you from above.
With heartfelt condolences,
Dan Anderson and Family

Dear Haverly Family
I am so sorry for your loss. I was a classmates of Don's at St. Laurence and I wanted to extend my heartfelt sympathy. He was always fun to be around and although we hadn't crossed paths in many years his big smile and great personality is something I will always remember. May all the memories live on in your hearts forever and comfort you all during this difficult time.

Although I have been a member at WVCC for only two years, Don went out of his way to welcome me, and I was glad to have shared a few rounds of golf with him because they were often filled with stories, laughter, and his great golf game.
You will be missed, Don. My thoughts are with the Haverly family and all of those who mourn his loss. God bless.

I was lucky to have known Don and his love for Jenn and his boys. I am deeply saddened by your passing but know that you are in a better place. I'd like to think that my brother will find you and welcome you into heaven where I'm sure he's been having a big party for all of those that we've lost. To Jenn and your family please take comfort in knowing that one day you will see him again. I send you love, encouragement and strength. XOXO Julie

This poem touched our hearts as we are keeping your family in our prayers. You will see Don again someday, until then, We are here for you Jen and the boys. Love and prayers to you 3...
"If you could see me now you wouldn’t shed a tear.
Though you may not understand why I’m no longer there.
Remember my spirit that is the real me because I’m still very
Much alive, I’ve just been set free, Oh, if you could only see!
I have beheld our Father’s face and I’ve touched my Savior’s
Hand. All of Heaven’s angels rejoiced as I entered the promised
Land. Beyond the gates of pearl I’ve walked on the golden streets.
I’ve touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the
Crystal sea. The beauty is beyond words and nothing could
Compare, I’ve even seen your mansion and someday
I’ll meet you there. Let Jesus be your guide because
His Word will show you the way! So please don’t
Cry because we will meet again someday."
