Richard F. Leonard, age 82, of Whitemarsh Twp. died Friday, February 12, 2016 at Sunrise Senior Living of Lafayette. Mr. Leonard was born February 14, 1933 in Boston, MA. He is the son of the late Raymond F. and the late Eleanor (Clark) Leonard. He is the husband of 53 years to Lynn (Schaefer) Leonard . He was a retired Advertising Agency owner . Mr. Leonard was a graduate of Germantown Friends High School and attended Cornell University and the University of the Arts. He also served in the US Army. Mr. Leonard was also an avid boater and race car enthusiast. He was a former officer for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and owned several boats mostly Sport Fishermen Convertibles. In his younger days he loved to race roadsters including MG's, Austin Martins etc. He loved to travel with his family especially to Europe andenjoyed family his dogs. Mr. Leonard was also a former member of the Whitemarsh Twp. Planning Commission and the Plymouth - Whitemarsh Historical Society. He will be sorely missed by his devoted family and his friends and community. He is survived by his wife: Lynn (Schaefer) Leonard , one daughter: Patti Aukamp (Ron) of Pottstown, PA and one son: William C. Leonard of Whitemarsh, Twp. and Brother of - Frances Stevens of Newark, DE; . A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, February 19 at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. 19444 Burial will be held privately in Washington Crossing National Veteran Cemetery, Newtown,Pa. Calling hours will be Friday, February 19 from 10:30-11am the Funeral Home, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Montgomery County SPCA-19E. Ridge Pike,Conshohocken, Pa.19428.
