James R Morrison, Jr. died suddenly Sunday Feb.7, 2016 at the Broward Medical Center in Pompano,Fla.
Jim was born in 1932 to Ruth (Bossart) and James R. Morrison. Jim was the youngest of four children which included his three sisters, Nancy Lownes (Dick), the late Jane Goldbeck and the late Helen Tippet Kleckner.
Jim, often referred to as "Toad", graduated from Roxborough High School and served in the Korean war from 1952-1954 in the Army.
Jim was the father of three children, Karen Delaney (Dan) and the late Susan and the late James R.Morrison III .
During the course of his life , Jim owned and operated Morrison's Sporting Goods store in Roxborough and Plymouth Meeting. He became a member of the Professional Golfers Association and served as the Golf Pro at Walnut Lane Golf Course in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia as well as Flourtown Country Club. Jim enjoyed planning many golf trips for his friends, especially to Florida
Jim moved to Pompano Beach, Florida in 1978 and would return to Sea Isle City New Jersey during the summer months where he owned and operated a miniature golf course for many years.
Jim married Elizabeth (Haskins) McCann in 1986 and became step father to Elizabeth's five children, Bill, Peggy, John, and the late Nancy and Christopher. Over the course of their lives together, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild joined the family.
Jim had a very long fulfilling life with Liz in Florida in the winter and summers in Sea Isle City where he enjoyed his time with loving family and many friends who will miss him very much.
As per Jim's request he wanted his funeral services to be held privately.
