Marilynn Louise ( Cash ) Zuzelo, age 90, of Lafayette Hill formerly of Penn Valley Pa. died Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Sunrise Senior Living in Lafayette Hill. She was born November 5, 1924 in Quttawa, KN. She is the daughter of the late Aubrey and the late Mildred (Herron) Cash. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Zuzelo who died in August of 2014. Mrs. Zuzelo was born in rural Kentucky but moved to Ohio at age four. After High School she studied Nursing in Philadelphia and it was during her time as a student she the man she fell in love with , Edward A. Zuzelo . They married on March 26,1948. In February of 1949 their twins were born Edward and Kimberly. The following year in March they saw the birth of Paul then Patricia in November of 1952, Andrew in January of 1954, Matthew February of 1956, Barbara in November of 1958 and last but not least, Philip in October of 1962. Typically for women of her generation, she devoted herself to her family, but also found time to learn to play Bridge. She was a keen and competitive participant in Ladies Golf at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club and also played inter-club competitive Bridge. Long before the epithet " Supermom" came into existence, Marilynn was one ! She had cleaning help in the family residence but raised her children herself with only the traditional input of her husband. She loved to travel and had traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, Barbados , Jamaica, The U.K. and more recently to Italy ,Egypt and China. For many years, Christmas was spent with family in warmer climates such as Puerto Rico and for over 20 years in Algo Mas in the Dominican Republic. Although her physical state declined with increasing rapidity during her final two years, she remained essentially what she had always been throughout her life ; as warm, vivacious , vibrant and witty woman who took great delight in the company her family and many friends. Marilynn was especially fond of Bette Davis' remark that " old age is not for sissies" and she faced the end of her long and happy life with the courage and curiosity which characterized her approach to her previous ninety years. She will be greatly missed and long remembered by those who were privileged to know her and love her. She is survived by three daughters: Kimberly Munro (Leslie), Patricia Fitzgerald (Bruce), Barbara Stock (Peter) and four sons: Edward Zuzelo, Paul Zuzelo (Suzanne), Matthew Zuzelo (Patti), Philip Zuzelo, 7 Grandchildren And 3 Siblings. She was predeceased by her son Andrew in 2011. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12 at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Entombment will be in Westminster Cemetery, Calling hours will be Saturday, September 12 from 10-11am at the Funeral Home In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Smile Train, PO Box 96231 Washington ,DC 20090-6231.
