Gertrude "Trudy" Eleanor D'Alessio, age 81, of Philadelphia died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at home in Lafayette Hill. Trudy was born January 30, 1934 in Morrisville, PA. She is the daughter of the late Frederick and the late Marie (Heiber) Weidmann. Before she was a homemaker Trudy was a Physical Education Teacher. Mrs. D'Alessio was a graduate of Saint Mary's Hall and Penn State University and was a member of the Tri Sigma Sorority. She was an active member and avid golfer at Cedarbrook Country Club and was also a member of their Bowling Team. Trudy enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren and being an active part of their lives. She also enjoyed the annual family trips to Sea Isle City NJ and the Poconos. She will be sorely missed by her loving family and many friends. She is survived by her husband: Walter D'Alessio, her daughter: Jennifer Rodier (David) of Lafayette Hill, PA. and son: Michael D'Alessio of Ft. Pierce also her 4 Grandchildren-Angela, Amanda, Kyle and Julia and 3 great grandchildren - Joshua , Adalyn and Lilyanna. Also survived by her beloved yellow lab Susie. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 4 at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Her visitation will be from 6-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society 1626 Locust St.Phila.Pa.19103 (Trudy was a longtime supporter).
