Evelyn Ethel ( Faix )Amwake was born on January 10, 1921, and raised in Lester, PA. She graduated from Ridley Park High School and wen on to work at an Insurance Co. in Philadelphia.She loved music and attended the Phila. School of Music for voice lessons. She then met the love of her life George Amwake and married him for over 59 years. They lived in Media , PA where they had their first daughter, Reni. They then moved to Springfield, Del. Co. where they had their second and third daughters, Jody and Catherine .Evelyn join St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Springfield and so her life of dedication to the church began. She was a member of the choir, where she sang many solos, the alter guild, needle work group and many, many other committees. Her life revolved around her family and church and she was devoted to all of them. Later her three daughters married and she had six grandchildren Kim, Jonathan, John, Ross, Anna and Amanda. She was a loving and giving Grand mom and then had four great grandchildren. She was a very talented seamstress and made clothes, crafts, and quilts for many. She also loved to bake and was best known for her Christmas cookies which she would give to family and friends. She spent the last fourteen years at the Masonic Home in Lafayette Hills, PA, where they took very good care of her. She will always be remembered as a wonderful, old fashioned, perfect Mom. She is survived by daughters Reni Fetterolf (Barry), Jody Aungst (Jack) and Catherine Lownes (Richard Jr.) also a brother Charles and 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial service Friday 11/14/2014 at Saint Peters Lutheran Church,3025 Church Rd. Lafayette Hill,Pa.19444. Visitation from 10-11am at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the above church or the Masonic Village of Lafayette Hill.
