Obituary of Peter A. Vacca

Peter A. Vacca, age 91 of Lafayette Hill died Monday (10/20) in the Regina Nursing Center, Norristown,Pa. He was a Mechanical Engineer, employed by for the Department Of The Navy Mr. Vacca was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Phillip and the late Agata DiGregorio Vacca. Mr. Vacca was a graduate of Northeast High School and Drexel Univ. He was born and raised in the Swampoodle section of Phila. and was a former member of the Saint Mary of the Eternal Parrish and for many years has been a member of the Old neighborhoods breakfast club. Mr. Vacca is currently a member of Saint Philip Neri Parrish in Lafayette Hill and was a former usher. He served our country during World War 2 in the US Army. Mr. Vacca had several hobbies and interests such as wood working, big band music, dancing, Pinochle card playing and was known as a Jack of all Trades and a Master of Many. He could fix a car to cutting hair. He enjoyed summering in Avalon with his family and also was a former President of the Whitemarsh Twp. Little Leaque Assn. and was also a former coach. He was an avid Phila. sports fan along with Penn State and Notre Dame Football. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends. He is survived by his wife-Mary ( Zanconato ) Vacca one daughter: Paula M. Hanifin (Marty) of N. Wales, PA two sons: David P. Vacca of Lafayette Hill, PA, Dr. Peter J. Vacca (Ginger) of Plymouth Meeting, PA. Twin Sisiter, Peri DiGennaro of Lafayette Hill, PA; 5 Grandchildren-Daniel,Christina,Jack,Skylar,Veronica and 2 step grandchildren-Jeff and Pat., Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Friends may call Saturday 10/25/2014 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Contributions may be made to to the above church or Regina Nursing Center-550 E.
