Joseph King, age 74 of Blue Bell PA, died Monday (5/12) at his home in Blue Bell, Pa. He was a retired Manager for Bell Telephone / Verizon Mr. King was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late John and the late Magdalen Fehrenbach King. Joe grew up in the Olney section of Phila. and was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School and Chestnut Hill College graduating with a degree in Political Science . While residing in Olney ,he was a member of Saint Helena Church. Joe served his Country during the Cold War in the US Air Force. Having been employed by Bell Telephone / Verizon for many years , he became a member of the Telephone Pioneers Organization. He enjoyed traveling especially to Europe with his wife and also was an avid Phila. sports teams fan. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many friends. He is survived by his wife- Joan (Burger ) King four daughters: Jennifer King,MD(Matthew R.Craig,MD) of Horsham, AP, Jodie Smith (David) of Collegeville, PA, Julia Gorniak (Gregg) of Harleysville, PA, Joan Cavallaro (Michael) of Lafayette Hill, PA one son: Joseph King (Jill) of Conshohocken, PA. one sister: Mary King of Phila., PA four brothers: John King of Warminster, PA, Charles King of Del Rey Beach, FLA, Gerard King of Phila., PA, Ronald King of Phila., PA 10 Grandchildren- Mackenzie, Jack , Morgan , William, Emerson, Caitlin , Quinn ,Clara , Benjamin and Reese. Joe was predeceased by a brother Thomas. Friends may call Thursday 5/15/2014 from 6-8pm and Friday 5/16/2014 from 9:30-10:30am at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am Burial will be in the George Washington Memorial Park, . Contributions may be made to Chestnut Hill College or Mount Saint Joseph Academy.
