Obituary of Eugenia A."Jean" Steinmetz

Eugenia A. "Jean" Steinmetz, age 89 of Plymouth Meeting PA., died Friday (4/25) in the Einstein Montgomery Hospital. She was a retired Secretary working for the Montgomery County District Attorneys office. Mrs. Steinmetz was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late Lugwig and the late Xenia Poteyko Zackiewicz.She was the wife of the late Raymond L. Steinmetz who died in April of 1998. Mrs.Steinmetz was raised in Doylestown,Pa. before moving to the Lafayette Hill,Plymouth Meeting area.When she was younger she worked at the Phila.Navy Yard as a secretary. She was a member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill along with their Phillipians Social Group. She volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed her walks at the Plymouth Meeting Mall where she was a regular. Mrs.Steinmetz was an avid gardener and Phillies fan she also enjoyed traveling especially to the Jersey Shore in Ocean City and was very fond of nature and animals especially her dogs. She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Frankenfield (Butch) of Conshohocken, Kathleen Panek (Mark) of Hellertown. one sister: Estelle Amato of Mount Ephriam, NJ 4 Grandchildren, Friends may call Tuesday April 29,2014 from 10-11am at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Entombment will be in the Saint Matthew Cemetery, Conshohocken. Donations may be made to the American Heart or Lung Assn. or the S.P.C.A.
