Obituary of Mary Ann C. Snodgrass

SNODGRASS, Mary Ann (Campbell), PhD born May 20, 1929, formerly of York PA and Toledo OH, passed away on December 7, 2013 after a long illness. She is survived by her loving family, daughters Bethanne Snodgrass, MD, and Lori Snodgrass; grandchildren Roger Peikin, Ari Peikin, and Marianna Montrie; sister Patricia (Skip) Rice; cousins, nephews, and nieces; her dear companion Bob Harbison; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Phillips Campbell and Harry Ernest Campbell, and husband Roger Snodgrass. Mary Ann was born in Dayton, OH and attended Ohio State University, Temple University, and New York University. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Masters degrees in Education and Nursing, and a Doctorate in Nursing. She taught nursing at Gwynedd Mercy College and Hahnemann Hospital and as Professor of Nursing at York College until her retirement. Mary Ann was an accomplished pianist, an avid gardener, and a lifelong serious reader. She cherished time with her family and traveled often to Ohio, Massachusetts, and Chautauqua, New York to spend time with multiple generations. We will miss you, Grammie. A memorial service and lunch will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 11 AM at Sunnybrook Country Club in Plymouth Meeting, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chautauqua Institution or American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been made through Lownes Funeral Home in Lafayette Hill, PA.
