Elvera B. "Vera" (Staley) Wischhusen, age 90 of Ft.washington Estates,formerly of Lafayette Hill died Sunday (11/24/13)
She was a retired secretary employed by Unisys and also Cyanamid.
Mrs. Wischhusen was a long time member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill and was a former past president of the Lutheran Church Womens Group-LCW.
She was a former volunteer for the Whitemarsh Twp. Welcome Wagon and was a former Den Mother for the Cub and Boy Scouts.
Vera was also known for her baking and cooking skills and during WW 2 she was a "Rosie the Riveter" and also had worked in an ammunition factory during the War effort.
She is survived by
two daughters: Cate Anderson (David) of Maple Glenn, PA, Jean Hayes (James) of Mobile, AL
predeceased by her son 11/29/2013- Robert R. Wischhusen (Fern) of Norristown, PA
4 Grandchildren- Lauren, Ryan, Victoria And Jessica,
She is also survived by her former daughter in law Virginia (Bendinger) Wischhusen.
Vera was predeceased by her siblings-Eileen Capello Harper,Dale Staley,Arna Pilon and Kenneth Staley.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 12/3/2013 at 11am from Saint Peters Lutheran Church,3025 Church Rd. Lafayette Hill,Pa. 19444
Viewing -9:30-11am at the church.
Burial will be private
