Obituary of Ted Bryson

Ted Bryson, age 87 of Lafayette Hill PA, died Friday (9/27) in Virginia. . He was a retired Mechanic formerly employed by Farmers Auto Service inLafayette Hill Ted's formal name was Sylvester Theodore Bryson, a name apparently he did not like much. Known to many as Ted or Uncle Ted. Ted was a fixture in Lafayette Hill for many years and had lived in a historic home built in the early 1800's. Ted was well known for his excellent mechanical skills, quick wit, quick temper but gentle wisdom and most of all his beloved pipe. Ted was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Wolfenden) Bryson who had passed away at their home in Lafayette Hill in 1998. Both were animal lovers but their kitty's were closest to their hearts. Ted not only enjoyed repairing cars but also collecting them thru the years everything from Cadillacs to Audi's. Ted in his younger years was an over the road truck driver and had owned his own small engine repair shop in Conshohocken. For many years he worked for his long time friend Jerry Farmer who owned Farmers Auto Repair at the corner of Crescent Ave. and Germantown Pike. Ted was an active volunteer and life member with the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Co. and was their former Fire Police Captain and many years ago drove the fire trucks. Ted was quite the colorful character and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his daughter Carol Sawyers of Virginia.
