Obituary of David A. Bartynski Sr
BARTYNSKI, DAVID A, SR “POPPY’
Dave Bartynski (71) of Fort Washington, PA, passed away suddenly on January 20, 2025. Dave was born in Allentown, PA, choosing to make his home in Montgomery County 45 years ago. He met and married his best friend and loving wife of 44 years, Donna. Then with her two children Jim (Cristy), and Chris (Annemarie), they expanded their family to include David Jr. (Victoria) and Andrew. Soon thereafter he became the much loved and adored grandfather, “Poppy”, to Jamie, Tommy, Katie, Christopher, Ryan, Jack, David III, Charlotte, Zach and Julianna. For the past 49 years, Dave was a prominent Regional Property Manger with DePaul Realty Company.
When not at work, Dave gave his whole heart to charitable organizations. Dave, Donna and their entire family annually hosted over 300 staff members, students and their families from LaSalle Academy for Thanksgiving dinner. In addition, they would host many of those same students at their two sister in law’s homes in Ocean City, NJ. Another passion project for Dave was to serve on the board of the Nello Memorial Committee, a foundation established in memory of his nephew Nello. For 25 years he was a major part of their fundraisers and events. Most importantly, Dave was devoted to all of his sons’ pursuits, both in sports and academics. Between football fields, ice hockey rinks, and school fundraising events, Dave was always eager to be involved.
He was a HUGE sports fan, in particular the LaSalle College High School football team and Mount Saint Joseph Academy field hockey team. He loved all Philly sports and had the opportunity to take his two older boys to the Super Bowl in 2023 to watch the Eagles. Dave made every effort to support his children and grandchildren in all their various sporting events.
Through Donna, Dave discovered his love of dragon boating. He joined the Philadelphia Dragon Boat team with his wife and this started their journey of paddling. Dragon boating became his new hobby and love, where he and Donna both competed in race events that took them around the world.
Dave will be remembered as a happy, cheerful, kind, gentle, and gracious man. He loved his music and was a wonderful pianist. He would often entertain his wife Donna with his beautiful music. Dave truly was an exceptional and beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be forever cherished and in our memories.
