Born on Jan. 24, 1962, Kevin was one of seven children born to Jack and Helen McAllister. He grew up in Miquon, Pa., and graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and Temple University.
Kevin worked as a geologist in environmental remediation. After college, he moved to Albuquerque, N.M., for several years, where he worked and explored the Southwest. Most recently, Kevin ran his own consulting business in Philadelphia.
Kevin lived with kidney disease and was tenacious in battling his health challenges. When he was 26, Kevin received his first donor kidney transplant, then eight years later he received a second donor transplant. Twenty-eight years later, that kidney failed and Kevin died at his home on Jan. 5.
Kevin had eclectic tastes in art and music and enjoyed playing the guitar (in his self-taught style). He enjoyed hiking and walks at the Wissahickon. He particularly cherished being the comical uncle to his nine nieces and nephews.
Kevin is survived by sisters Jacquelyn; Dana Matkovic (Mike); Karen (Don Johnson); brothers Brian; Sean; Michael (Lisa); nephews Ryan; Michael; Sean and Ben; nieces Sr. Amanda Matkovic DC; Shannon; Olivia, Cathryn & Danielle.
Kevin cherished family, including those he had only met in recent years.
