ROBERT “BOB” E. SAGUE
June 4, 1942 – December 3, 2024

Robert "Bob" E. Sague, 82, of Lafayette Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Born on June 4, 1942, in Philadelphia, Bob was the beloved son of the late Elmer E. and Veronica "Ronnie" (née Lawler) Sague. He grew up in Whitemarsh Township, a place he cherished throughout his life.

Bob is survived by his loving children: Michelle Abiuso (Mike), Jennifer McMenamin (Bill), John Sague (Katie), and Stephen Sague (Vera); and his 12 cherished grandchildren: Erin, Sara, Colleen (Gabe), Drew, Owen, Brandon, Claire, Jason, Aiden, Jack, Fiona, and Ethan. He also leaves behind his loving sister Eleanor “Suze” Breischaft and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Bob is reunited in eternal rest with his wife and soulmate, Peggy and his siblings, Patricia Thomas and Raymond Sague, who preceded him in death.

A proud member of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Class of 1960, Bob was deeply rooted in his community. He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and the Barren Hill Fire Company, where he previously served as Assistant Chief. His passion for serving others extended to his business as the owner and operator of Sague Auto Service, also known as Sague Bus Service. Since the 1960s, Bob transported generations of students to local schools, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He also spent many memorable evenings bartending weddings at the former Chateau Granieri in Whitemarsh.

Bob’s love for life was evident in everything he did. He treasured time with his family, especially vacations to Ocean City, NJ, and Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos, where he helped build the family cabin alongside his father. At home, his backyard oasis, lovingly referred to as "Club Sague," was his sanctuary for swimming, lounging, and hosting gatherings.

After the passing of his beloved wife Peggy, Bob found joy in visiting local restaurants, where he shared stories, jokes, and photographs with staff and patrons. A natural storyteller and historian, Bob delighted in recounting the rich history of Whitemarsh Township. He was a beacon of warmth, humor, and happiness to all who crossed his path.  Bob’s legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family, friends, and community will forever be remembered.
