I played a lot of golf with Dan and I enjoyed his company every round. We always had a ton of laughs! I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with your family in this difficult time! The world lost a great golfer and a great person. Such sad news. God bless!

Dan’s love for the game of golf brought him many great friendships at Turtle Creek Club. His huge smile and pleasant demeanor drew many of us into his foursome and we shared the frustration of the game equally. Never did Dan lose his composure nor his competitive spirit regardless of how he was playing. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Dan was a wonderful neighbor. We enjoyed chatting with him and his quick wit and generosity will always be remembered, Once, when our car battery was dead Dan walked over to see what I was working on. He promptly discovered it was my battery and went to a store and bought me a new one, which he wouldn't take payment for. Just one little story, out of many little stories. Dan's style, friendship and smile, will always be remembered.

I am a very old guy and Dan would come up to me and say hi Angelo, I'm Dan Farragut and always complementing me on my services I gave him at my restaurant He certainly knew how to make people happy. God bless him, and I will pray for her soul.

“Let him bye, he’s a friend of mine” was a common saying of Dan’s when one of us hit a bad putt. My first round of golf Dan beat me 9 and 8, and he laughed the entire round. Never let me forget it. He was bright, quick witted, well read, and a social genius. He loved people and loved introducing people, and he was great at it. There was no topic he didn’t have an opinion about -home improvement to golf swings to politics. And he could back up his opinions. Didn’t matter if his opinions were unsolicited, but everything he did came from a good place. I will miss my rounds of golf with Dan , and our text chains. Our deepest condolences from the Risnychok family.

Dan was a good and quirky golfing friend to many of us. His quiet sarcastic comments were quick-witted classics, several of which we’ll continue to say in his honor. Thanks for the memories Dan.

My sincere condolences to The Farragut Family.
As you may know, I invited Dan to Bandon Dunes this fall and we traveled there in early October.
He always loved Oregon and the golf courses in that area.
Our first trip to Bandon was in 2000 and he jumped at the chance to revisit the area this year.
We had a wonderful trip and I noticed that even though Dan could be “grumpy” sometimes, he was in such a great mood during our time together. Even though he had mobility issues, he never once complained about walking the beautiful courses we played.
Dan’s Father Ken and my Grandfather John Green were best of Friends in Palm Beach FL, members of The Old Society of Palm Beach Golfers.
This is how I met Dan and forged a true Friendship over our 30 years together.
Dan had a quick wit and a kind heart.
I already miss him tremendously.
My heart goes out to Janet, his Children, and the entire Farragut Family.

I will miss Dan. I’ll miss his harmless and sarcastic comments on the golf course. His smile and s……t ea…….ten grin when he was ribbing me. But what I’ll miss the most is his huge heart, sincere interest in me, and his ability to bring people together. I’m glad God crossed our paths in 1995 and I’m proud to call him my friend.

Farragut Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. I had the privilege of knowing Dan and spending endless hours of playing golf with him at Turtle Creek. He always brought a smile and I enjoyed the time spent with him. He was a good man and I will miss him. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I hope he is playing golf with friends and family he touched in his life. And hopefully on courses with no “chimp” grass!
