Obituary of Barbara M. Robinson

Barbara M. Robinson, age 88, of Plymouth Meeting, PA and a resident of Montgomery County, PA for over 65 years, died on August 8, 2024.  She was born in Philadelphia on September 25, 1935, to her parents, John and Ruth Evans.  Barbara is survived by her older brother Jack, beloved daughter Gail Heck(Robinson), son Bruce Robinson, son-in-law Thomas, two daughters-in-law Deborah and Marla, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her son, Robert Robinson.

Barbara attended Collingdale High School in Collingdale, PA where she enjoyed playing field hockey and basketball.  After high school, Barbara married Robert H. Robinson and they had three children.  While married, she was active in the Plymouth Jaycettes, a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Den mother.

Barbara later worked for 40 years as a receptionist at Silver Springs Martin Luther School until her retirement at 79 years old.  She was a volunteer to several residential children there in her early years.

Barbara was a big cat lover and had several over the years including her surviving cats Maggie and Molly.

Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed being part of a book club with some of her former co-workers.  

She also enjoyed making costume jewelry with her daughter Gail and selling her creations at local craft shows.

Barbara had a big heart and generously helped many people, family and organizations throughout her life.

A private Celebration of Life luncheon will be held in her honor.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Barbara’s name to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
