Q: How would you describe Elizabeth to someone who had never met them?
A: Dear Paul, Bobby, Sean and Corey,
I am so deeply sorry to hear of Liz's passing.
She was such a gentle, loving person who never hesitated to make herself available whenever I needed help.
She and I met at St. Paul's Nursery School when Bobby and my son Evan were just 3 years old. I remember her kindness, compassion and dedication to her children, friends, extended family and all the dogs!!
I send my heeartfelt condolences to you.
Love Susan Magoni

My family knew Elizabeth through Lucky Dogz. She was always so warm and helpful with our Zoey. Elizabeth would stop and talk with my young daughters and even let them hold one of the cats. She and I had many conversations about our children. Elizabeth was so proud of her children. I will really miss her. We have been praying for her family through this difficult time.

My wife Michelle and I met Elizabeth 9 years ago when we brought our dog Bodie to Lucky Dogz to get out some of his energy. She was always kind and upbeat and Bodie clearly loved her. It is clear she will be missed by a lot of people and we extend our condolences to her family.

I met Elizabeth 8 years ago when I brought my dog Chewy to Luckydogz for the first time. Since then I would see her every week and everytime I saw her she was so pleasant and sweet. She would always tell me how Chewy still seemed like a puppy and we would joke he found the fountain of youth. Elizabeth was such a wonderful part of our community and she will be deeply missed by humans and animals. My heart breaks for her family and my deepest sympathy goes out to them.

The first dog I brought to LD was more than 10 years ago. Ryland was the first dog I’d had who was a really active dog and needed an outlet for all his energy. Elizabeth would tell us that Ryland was a real goof - that he’d walk up to her and try to get her to play with him, jamming a ball over and over into her leg before she’d finally cave and throw it for him. She also told me how he was a leader in the “Boston Brigade” - a group of Boston Terriers who sometimes showed up on the same day and they would just run for hours, chasing after each other. How sometimes Ryland would tease her or even other dogs by showing up with a ball in his mouth , dropping it and make you think he wanted you to throw it to him, but then as she/another dog would go to grab the ball, he would all of a sudden leap forward, grab it back and run off! And lastly, she would tell us that Ryland was so active that she had to just force him to rest, that otherwise he would just run and run for hours…Elizabeth gave us these memories and stories of Ryland and I’ve never forgotten them…It was obvious how attentive to the dogs she really was, how thoughtful, and how much she enjoyed the work she was doing…We will always be grateful to her. I am so glad I met her at Hamilton Animal Hospital where she brought her pugs - I had never heard of doggie daycare then (2012) and I was soooo excited to give it a try for my guy. My fav photo of Ryland was taken by Elizabeth all those years ago and I look at it daily. She really caught his essence! Best decision we ever made for Ryland and our future dogs….

I started bringing my dog, Irys, to LD a few months after we adopted her. Elizabeth knew how anxious I was because Irys hadn’t had a normal life prior to her adoption. Elizabeth spent a lot of time monitoring Irys and reassuring us that she was doing well. Elizabeth would tell me about Iry’s “routine” whenever she went - that as soon as she arrived, she would have to start sniffing at the entire perimeter of the room. She also told us that a couple weeks/months after Irys started going there, they looked up at one point and Irys had figured out a way to move the gate(s) blocking the big dogs from a smaller dog section, and they found her just wandering around in there with the big dogs! Elizabeth remarked how smart she was, as no dog had figured out how to do that in all the years she’d been in business. They had to come up with a new way of keeping her ( and any other small dog) out of there!
Elizabeth also never stopped demonstrating to us how much she enjoyed Irys - how velvety her tummy was, how silly she was, and she’d always insist on carrying Irys out to the car at night, leaving me and another employee to take my other dog and a friend’s dog out to the car. It was pretty funny - whenever there was a new employee helping us leave at night, Elizabeth would always say “Irys is mine - you can take out Kirby or Olive”… Whenever Elizabeth picked up Irys to carry her outside, Irys would always get a smile on her face that she never gave me!

Elizabeth really liked my shy dog Kirby’s smile…When I was dropping my dogs off to daycare before work, Elizabeth would meet me out at my car on occasion. She would open the door to take Kirby out and he would be there in his car-seat, curled up in a ball, unhappy with the car ride. However, when he would raise his head and see her there next to him, he would all of a sudden make this huge, toothy, silly smile directly at her! Elizabeth would pause and then she would chuckle and say “Awwww!”… Later she would tell me that Kirby would do the same thing when he saw her during the day - just see her and give her his big smile and that it always made her feel special.

Elizabeth was the first person to welcome us with a smile and a plate of cookies when we moved next door 27 years ago. She and I raised our kids together, sharing many birthday parties, holidays, dinosaur hunts, driveway games and backyard picnics. She was an amazing, warm, and caring woman. Here she is sharing a special moment with my daughter 26 years ago.

I remember many Sundays growing up with Elizabeth and all my cousins at our grandmother's house in Chestnut Hill. We were close in age and all the cousins would gather in the downstairs of our grandmother's home to talk and laugh. We both loved education and children and I enjoyed our conversations over the years about Elizabeth raising her boys. Her love of people and animals was obvious, and many benefitted from her caring. You will be missed always. Jackie
