Mrs. Shultz, as I first knew her, was the kindest teacher/substitute teacher here at the Colonial School District. As a student I remember coming in from lunch one day all charged up and couldn't control myself. Mrs. Shultz after a few warnings told me I had a detention (the only one I ever received) and to stop in after school. When arriving at the classroom she asked me who was the boss in the room to which I replied, "you are". She smiled and said, please don't forget that and told me the detention was over. She always had a sweet way of getting her point across. Mrs. Shultz was also the sub in my classroom the day we found out that one of my best friends was killed. After being told by the principal to inform the class she kindly and quietly said that the school was made aware that Keith Stimson was found dead and there wasn't any additional information. Seeing that tears had filled my eyes and that of another friend, she quickly took us in the hallway and sent us to the counselors. She was always very caring and sweet. When I first became a teacher at PW and Mrs. Shultz became Jane, I could never stop calling her Mrs. Shultz because of the respect I had for her as a teacher, educator and as a role model that I wanted to emulate. Over the years after she finally stopped subbing, I would see her out for dinner within the Colonial School District and would love to recount some of these stories with her and the family members that were with her. I'm so sorry for the loss to your family. The world has lost a wonderful women, educator and role model.

Jane was a lovely woman who demonstrated care and concern for students at every turn. I worked closely with her in the Colonial School District for a number of years prior to her retirement and whether she was a substitute or a Homebound Instruction Teacher, she always showed professionalism and a genuine fondness for the kids. She will be missed.

It was always a pleasure to be around Jane. She will be missed at our monthly lunches attended by members of our high school class of 1956. We were early for one lunch so I asked her if she would like a tour of Ursinus College. She told us of many memories. One was that is where she met Terry. You will be with us in our memories.
