Obituary of Louise Waters Barbaretta
Louise Waters Barbaretta, 90, formerly of Norristown, PA, and most recently from Spring House Estates in Lower Gwynedd, died peacefully at Jefferson-Abington Hospital on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Louise is predeceased by her parents Daniel and Mary (O’Brien) Waters, her husband Jim, her daughter Jo Ann and her brothers, Dan, John and Peter. Louise was born and raised in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and Rosemont College. She taught elementary school for many years in the Colonial School District. Louise is survived by her son Michael (Mary Jo), her brothers Jimmy (Jo Ann) and Fr. Bill Waters, OSA, as well as her grandsons Matt and Chris, 3 sisters-in-law Chyllene, Jo Ann, and Regina and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise was a strong person of faith. She loved being an aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Over the years, Louise volunteered in many different capacities ranging from teaching religion and bringing Communion to the sick, to delivering mail and visiting the sick at Spring House Estates. As one of her relatives said, she always set an example of kindness and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope St., East Norriton, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with interment at St. Patrick Cemetery, 2300 DeKalb Pike, Norristown, PA.
