The years have flown so swiftly. Like a strong wind came and swept you away. It is sad! Yet God in all his mercy chose to ease your pain. Our hearts ache that we didn't get to say goodbye, but memories of your goodness, love, and compassion live within us forever. Jean, you cannot hear us or read these words; they are to encourage those you've left behind to persevere! The heavens are open to receive this conqueror.

I was one of Jean Pierra’s caregivers at Sunrise of Lafayette Hill I use to come in and see him sitting outside with other residents or watching Tv with the other residents what I’ll always remember of Mr Pierre is his smile when I would see him laughing if I told a joke and when we would start randomly dancing with him laughing. Mr Pierre was on of my favorite residents and I’ll miss and hope he’s at peace I know he’s with my brother
Sincerely Harry Walter Costello

I recently met Jean at Sunrise Assisted Facility. Even though he could not speak...I could see by his eyes, I had made a friend. I fell in love with is amazing wife, Nadine. Although, only in my life for a few months, I will never forget him.
Peace and Blessings.

Dr. Jean Pierre-Louis the beloved principal of PS 138, was a kind and thoughtful man with a beautiful vision for the school. He was ahead of his time promoting emotional intelligence, differentiated instruction, professional development and personal growth through education. He brought foreign language to the school. He also brought visual and performing arts to the school through Project ARTS! Dr. Pierre Louis was well respected and admired even those who didn’t agree with him knew that his heart was in the right place, the educational success of the children. Thank you, Dr. Pierre-Louis, for being such a visionary and making a great an impact in our lives.

Mr. Pierre-Louis was a great man and educator with dignity and respect. He understood people who worked with him. One most important thing about him was that he listened to what you have to say to him then he will bring his ideas. He hired me at P.S 138 and I’m still working at the same school today. Thank you I am going to miss you.

Upon receiving my teacher certification from the board of Education, my first interview was at PS 138 where Mr. Pierre-Louis was the newly appointed principal. The school at that time was in a dire state. The First thing the AP did was to take me on a tour of the premises. He made sure to have me visit the school cafeteria at lunch time, so convinced was he that I would not take the position. In truth, I was appalled by what I saw.
However, during my interview with Mr. Pierre -Louis I was impressed by his resolve and optimism. I asked Mr. Pierre-Louis: “Can we fix this? "He answered, “I am working on it, this is why I need only people who want to make the commitment”. I told him “I want to help.”
He made sure to surround himself with a team of people who were very enthusiastic about the task ahead.
His quiet demeanor and gentleness brought a climate of positive change and collaboration to the table.
His dedication and determination really turned the school around. We went from ranking fourth from the bottom in reading in district 17 to top third within just a few years. He had a vision for His school. He wanted PS 138 to become a beacon for the community. I believe he succeeded.
Farewell Dr. Pierre-Louis and thank you for giving me a foothold in the system.
