Obituary of Star I McKernan

Star I. McKernan (nee Van Syckel)  of Lafayette Hill passed away at Chestnut Hill Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 76.

She was born December 21, 1946 in Camden, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Clifford Van Syckel and Mary Bernice Bruce (nee Crotty).  She grew up in Merchantville New Jersey but recently moved from Voorhees, NJ to Pennsylvania to be closer to her family.        

Star is survived by her children Michael Abiuso III (Michelle) of Lafayette Hill, PA and Jeanine Abiuso (Bill Zeltman) of New Port Richey, FL;  her sister Sharyn Berg of Grayson, GA;  her grandsons Brandon, Jason and Aiden.   She is also survived by her nieces and nephews Nathan, Jonathan, Daniel, Bethany and Michal.

Star was a graduate of Merchantville High School (NJ) and a retired Medical Transcriptionist.

She enjoyed reading and watching British Murder Mysteries on Acorn TV,  shows and special features on WHYY PBS and Reality TV Shows.

Per Star’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
