My sister Ree made growing up behind her super easy for me. As a teen, she was the one that always got in trouble somehow, so by the time I was reaching my rebellious teens my parents had already seen it all and heard it all. (Jimmy and Ree really saw to that!).
She always made us laugh, whether it was dancing around and changing the words to a popular song to fit her latest teen crush, or rolling in late after a few too many beers. No matter how drunk she was, she always pulled out her rosary beads and started the prayers of the rosary until she fell off to sleep. I’m not even sure she ever made it to the Our Father. I’m sure she got points for attempting it anyway.
Life didn’t turn out easily for her with her health issues, although even when she was deathly ill herself, she was crying more for my sister Regina’s situation in moving to a new (moneypit) house and her husband, Jack’s health issues. I think because she had so many struggles herself she was one of the most empathetic people I know.
I will miss her terribly, but I will see her again when I depart this world. I hope that she is dancing around in her new pain-free, heavenly body changing the words of the praise songs and making everyone laugh.

Ree was so much fun. When our four sisters were in Hawaii together we decided to go parasailing. We got out in the ocean but Ree was the only one that went up in the parachute, the rest of us chickened out. We were in our fifties and too scared, but it was worth the trip watching Ree laughing and screaming coming in for a landing. At the Poconos she once had a bear encounter that had us laughing all day. And her skiing adventures were a hoot. Just plain family get togethers were always more fun if Ree was there.
People loved her. When she worked at Diversified Products her office had a constant stream of young people in and out. They were always looking for advice, help with a problem, or just stopping in for a visit. When she volunteered at the thrift shop at the church, the older ladies loved her too. People of all ages knew that she would do anything she could to help you.
Her happiest times have been with the grandchildren. She spent a lot of time with Jaden and loved being a first time mom mom with him. She has really enjoyed being with Aleyah and Frank and Tyler. And in the past few years she's been blessed with her little guys CJ and Ryan. They loved to help her with crafts, with decorating pumpkins and cookies, and they just make her laugh. In the last few weeks she's kept saying.... "forget all this physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. these little guys are all the therapy I need".
We love you, Ree. Enjoy being with mother and mom mom and aunt helen and all the funny ladies in our family who are now angels. They will love having you there with them, but we will so much miss you here.

I loved my thoughtful little sister Ree. While she had more than her fair share of challenges in this life, she always had kind and encouraging words for others in her life … in spite of the challenges in her own. I am particularly grateful for her support and remembrances during the hospice period and passing of my dear wife Louise last year. I will always think of Ree when I hear or play the old Marty Robbins song with my own modified version of the lyrics that include something like this.
When she reaches that day Lord, you know what she's worth. Please give her the mansion up yonder 'cause she's been through a lot here on earth.
