I suspect most of us who taught at WJHS view that period of time as the highlight of our teaching careers. It may have been the successful sports teams, the numerous quality students or the supportive parents. However, the closeness of the faculty made us a surrogate family. Wally was there for so many events – the faculty/student sport competitions and all of the interscholastic games that were the incubator for PWHS sport successes. Everyone knew of Wally’s love of all sports. But the first thought that comes to mind when I think of Wally is the mischievous smile that was always there to light up the room. The world is a little darker today.
