Joseph P. Medicus, age 91 of Whitemarsh Twp., died Tuesday (6/22) at his home . He was a Retired Architect, employed by Alexander Ewing Co.-Phila. Mr. Medicus was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late Joseph and the late Wilhelmina Haibach Medicus. He was predeceased by his first wife Virginia Florence (Day) Medicus in 1979. Joe attended and graduated from Northeast H.S. and Olney H.S. He went on to graduate from Drexel Univ. Joe was a WW2 Army veteran serving in Europe as a Staff Sergeant. Joe was also very active in his church for many years at St. Peter's Lutheran in Lafayette Hill where he was a former council member and choir member and mens bowling team member. He volunteered his time and particated in the churches annual Boars Head Festival. Joe was also an avid artist specializing in water colors and had a book published of his works that he had done in WW2 .He also was a member of the Oreland Art Center. He is survived by his wife Mary (McPherson) Justice Medicus two daughters: Jodie Heathman (John) of Douglasville, PA, Peggy Doyle (Jim) of Boulder, CO four sons: Richard Medicus (Susan) of Ft. Washington, PA, Robert Medicus (Sue) of Phoenixville, PA., Jeffrey Justice of Longmont, CO, Steven Justice (Lorna) of Hudson, OH one sister: Eleanor Stieff of Ambler, PA. 11grandchildren, 2 Great Grand., . Memorial Services will be held Wed. 6/30/10 at 11:00 am in the Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Rd.
