Obituary of Raymond W. Skorny Sr

Beloved husband of Roseann Lucarini Skorny. Brother of the late Henry (Hank) Skorny. Loving father of Raymond Skorny, Jr. and Diane Skorny, and the late Karen Skorny, and stepfather of Mia Lucarini DiPaolo (Matthew) and Christian Lucarini (Evdoxia). Grandfather of Lauren Skorny and Lindsay Skorny and step grandfather of Nicholas Lucarini and Melina Lucarini. Great grandfather of Arabella Dorisio. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

After graduating school, Ray worked at Transamerica Insurance for 35 years. After leaving Transamerica, he worked as an independent contractor before officially retiring at the age of 78.

Ray enjoyed many activities such as bowling, softball, and coaching baseball for his son. On most Friday nights, Ray and his brother Hank would be eating crabs or polish kielbasa while sipping their favorite beverages. He had a true passion for golfing and traveling. He loved spending winters in Naples, Florida where he played endless rounds of golf and many games of bocce. He made many visits to Shallotte, North Carolina to visit with his brother and family. Another favorite travel spot of Ray’s was Hilton Head, South Carolina. At 86 Ray was still attending golf trips in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was a member of the 1912 Country Club located in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Family and friends are invited to St. Philip Neri Church (437 Ridge Pike Lafayette Hill, PA 19444) on Saturday, January 14, 2023 with a visitation from 9:30-11:00 AM immediately followed by mass.
