Rose-Marie Hidu Loughnane died peacefully at home in Lafayette Hill, PA on October 16, 2022
at the age of 82 of complications from uterine cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

Rosie was born on September 14, 1940 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Benjamin and Martha Hidu.
She graduated from Andrew Ward High School in Fairfield, CT in 1958 and from Pembroke
College in Brown University in 1962. At Brown she met Michael Loughnane who would become
her husband of 59 years. He survives her, as do her children, Paul Loughnane (Deanna) and
Alison Amann (Timothy); grandchildren Megan, Drew and Emma Loughnane and Jamie and
Anna Amann; and brother Herbert Hidu (Judy) of Alna ME. Her brothers Benjamin and Henry
preceded her in death.

She was a lifelong flight A bridge player, accumulating over 5500 Masterpoints, and a member
of the Hamilton Club. She loved spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore and later at
the home she and Michael built on Lake Seneca in the New York Finger Lakes. She enjoyed
skiing, tennis, arranging flowers, watching mobster movies, eating gummy bears and plotting
the college admission strategies of her grandchildren.

Services will be private.
