Obituary of Amy Eckman

Amy Jo Eckman (Evans), of West Norriton, Pennsylvania passed peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her home on Saturday July 16, 2022 at the age of 57. Amy was the daughter of Pamela Sithens (Bomboy) and James Evans. She is preceded in death by her parents, her step father Ralph Sithens, and her step brother Ralphie Sithens. She leaves behind her partner of 22 years, Derrick Dean, her children Ashley and Eric Eckman, two beautiful grandchildren Lyla Robinson and Ellis Eckman, her stepson Darnell Wise, her brother Peter Sithens (Janelle Sithens), many loved ones and beloved friends.

Amy worked as a medical secretary at Montgomery Hospital for over 18 years, before transitioning to work at Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia in 2011. Her employment came to an abrupt stop in 2016, after suffering complications from renal failure.

Amy was someone that lit up every room she walked into. Once you met her, you just couldn’t live without her. She was a free-spirit, with a kind heart and an irreplaceable sense of humor. Family was everything to Amy, and meeting her grandchildren was the blessing that kept her fighting. She loved animals, especially her cats. Amy’s humor lives on forever through her children and her friends, and her smile will never be forgotten. 

Services for Amy will take place on Thursday July 21, 2022 at Lowne’s Family Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 9:30am, with a service to follow at 11am. This will be open to the public. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the SPCA of Pennsylvania.
