Obituary of Dorothy L. Noderer

Please share a memory of Dorothy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dorothy “Dottie” Noderer, 74, of Elkins Park, PA, Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly, at home with her loving husband Nicholas “Nick” Noderer on February 10, 2022.  Dottie and Nick were lucky enough to fall in love, at first sight and spend 53 years together.  They created a family of 3 daughters, Martha V. Goebel (Ed Goebel), Nicole Noderer, Genevieve Lynch (Scott Lynch) and their adored grandchildren, Emily Follmer, Corina Goebel, Molly Follmer, Caroline Lynch, Michael Follmer and Genevieve Goebel.

Dottie, or Dottie Lou, as she was affectionately called by family, was born on September 3, 1947, in Philadelphia, as the first of three children, Edward Thompson (Debbie Thompson), Ellen Harrison (Jeff Harrison).  She is preceded in death by her parents Edward F. Thompson and Dorothy Thompson (Steele).  She grew up in Mount Airy and the Parkwood section of Northeast Philadelphia.  She spent summers with her beloved grandmother and grandfather, Martha & Sam Thompson, and her MANY cousins, whom she cherished, in Sea Isle City, NJ.  Dottie was a very proud St. Hubert’s Catholic School graduate, class of 1965.  After high school, she attended Misericordia School of Nursing.  Dottie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and her favorite title, grandmother.  Everyone knew that they “were her favorite, but shhh, don’t tell the others”.  She spent the prime of her life ensuring that everyone else had what they needed and wanted, while making the juggling of work, 3 kids in 3 different places, or shuttling grandchildren to different events or appointments, seem easy.

On Saturday, February 19, 2022, family, friends and loved ones are invited to visit the family from 8:30am to 10:00am, with a Funeral Mass to immediately follow at Presentation B.V.M.
