He worked as a machinist at GE and retired from Lockheed Martin 1997. After retirement, he set up a small machine shop in the garage and didprototype and small production work for various people and Companies.

Richard Speak was an active member at Grace Baptist Church in Fairview Village and served as Deacon and 3 years as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He credits all his life’s accomplishments and blessings to the Lord.

He had many hobbies camping, hunting, bicycling, cross country skiing. He was fascinated by trains and spent a lot of his time building a model railroad in the basement. He was a charter member of the Schuylkill Division, HO Model Railroad Exhibition, and a Member of the PA Live Steamers.  Recently, he built a ride-on railway on his property which all his grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed. Richard and his wife Pat often took trips to their cabin in the Poconos.

Richard was a man of few words and blessed with patience, kindness, and wisdom. His engineering and innovative mindset made him the “go to” person for problem solving and creating better ways of doing things. Richard was truly a great man whose impact will forever be remembered.
