Obituary of Robert E. Biddle

On January 24, 2022, Robert E Biddle Sr of Lafayette Hill, PA, passed away at 97.  

Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Mary M Biddle (nee Farnan).  Dear father of Robert Jr (Kathy), Rick (Ann) and Jane(Ken).  Loving grandfather of Mary Beth, Thomas, Katie, Christopher (Tayler), Robert III, D’Arcy, Remington, and Theodore.  Bob was one of eight children of Thomas and Anna Biddle and has two surviving siblings: Rich and Peggy.

Bob was born and raised in Philadelphia PA and graduated from Frankford High School. At 18, he joined the Navy and served on the USS Langley CVL 27 in the Pacific in WWII. He had his own Sunoco Gas Station in Chestnut Hill for several years.  He then worked at Giles & Ransom Equipment and eventually left to start his own company.  He went on to become a successful heavy construction equipment salesman.

He loved traveling the world with his wife and children and spending time with his grandchildren and extended family. He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, and Villanova Basketball. 

Bob was a faithful member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill for 70 years and will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10:30-12 pm at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm. All guests are encouraged to wear masks. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
