Obituary of Hendrickus A Bleeker
Hendrickus (Henk) A. Bleeker of Oreland, PA, 83, died peacefully on Saturday, January 15th, 2022. Henk was born July 14th, 1938 in Castricum, Netherlands. He was the youngest of 9 children. He and his wife Lennie (Helena A. Bleeker-Burger) emigrated to the United States, just one week after being married in Holland in July, 1961.
Henk was a talented carpenter, who then became a construction superintendent for various construction companies by creating and improving many buildings and projects for more than 43 years. After he retired, Henk continued working in his self-made wood shop, working on adding to his house, as well as improving his kids' homes and completing countless projects for many others.
Henk also enjoyed warm weather, sailing, fishing, cooking, reading, red wine, tinkering on many projects, and sitting with his 2 cherished cats, Liefje and Meisje. But Henk’s greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family and dear friends. Henk was known for his bright smile, sparkling blue eyes which would give that quick wink and mostly his warm heart, because he made people feel special. He will be dearly missed by so many people.
Henk is preceded by his loving wife, Lennie, and is survived by his sister, Lenie Dijkman (Holland), his three children and their spouses; Jackie and Dean Odagis (Pottstown), Chris Bleeker (Harleysville), Craig & Gwen Bleeker (Oreland) and seven grandchildren; Peter Odagis, Emerson Odagis, Liam Odagis, Peri Niskey, Brianna Bleeker, Samantha Bleeker & Shaun Bleeker, and many more nieces and nephews in the United States and Holland.
Henk’s celebration of life memorial will be held on May 15, 2022 from 11:00-3:00 at The Joseph Ambler Inn at 1005 Horsham Road, North Wales, PA 19454.
