Obituary of Barbara Shertz

Barbara Shertz “Bobbie”, 90, of Blue Bell, PA passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021. She was born in Abington, PA and she lived in Lafayette Hill most of her life.

Beloved daughter of the late George Morris and the late Elsie Morris. Beloved wife of the late John G. Shertz Sr. Loving mother of John G. Shertz Jr. “Jay” (Debra) of Plymouth Meeting, PA, the late Edward W. Shertz “Bill” of Somerset, Kentucky and Michael G. Shertz Sr. (Lizabeth) of Blue Bell, PA; Devoted sister of the late Eloise Gretz, the late Nancy Kirk and Sue Shriver; Dear Nana of Heather, Trinity, Christtina, Jennifer, Cecelia, Shawn, Michael and Danielle; Great Nana of Kennedy, Ava, Joshua, Ewan, Samuel, Avery, Maxim, Oliver, Caleb and Rory; she is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Bobbie graduated from Villanova University with a Masters in Library Science. She was head librarian of Wolfsohn Memorial Library in King of Prussia for many years. After her retirement from the library, she worked as the business manager at Systems Inc., a family run business. Later she became president and owner of Ms. Business Forms Inc.

Bobbie was an active member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and was a Eucharistic minister. She was also a long time member of Whitemarsh Valley Country Club.

Bobbie loved spending time with her family especially at the beach. She enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings. She also enjoyed reading books to her grandchildren and attending daily Mass followed by breakfast at Panera with her group of lady friends from Saint Philip’s.
