Obituary of Leon M. Palo

PALO
Leon M. passed away suddenly on March 19, 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of Frances (deceased Nov. 8, 2009); devoted father of Cathy Kopach, Lee (Linda), Gary and Chuck (Betsy) Palo; Pop or Poppy to 8 grand-children Joe, Kristi (Billy), Gary (Anna), Lauren, Katherine, Alyssa, Chelsea and Ryan and 6 great grand-children Ryan, Will, Bryn, Gary, Daniel and Connor. Predeceased by a granddaughter, Katherine.  Lee, as he was known to family and friends, joined the Navy and proudly served in World War II, where he received numerous acknowledgments and medals for his extraordinary service. After an honorable discharge in 1946 he began a 30 plus year career at Honeywell.  He was a gifted craftsman and wood worker who took great pleasure in doing projects in his home and his children’s homes. As the “Mayor of Penn Road” he was always happy and willing to help out his neighbors.  In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with Fran and his family whom he took great joy in watching grow and prosper.   Funeral Mass and internment are private.
