Obituary of Joseph H. Pollock
Entered Eternal Life- September 17th, 2020
Joseph H. Pollock, “Joe”, originally of Camden, NJ but lifelong Philadelphian passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, September 17th, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital following a brief illness.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Maureen Pollock (née King), children Ryan (Liz), Casey (Douglas) and three grandchildren, Colin, Finnegan, and William.
Joe was most known for being the ultimate gentleman. He was incredibly generous and had a tireless old-school work-ethic. There wasn’t much Joe didn’t know how to do, and if he didn’t, he taught himself along the way. His family often joked that he had conquered several careers from public auditing as a CPA, owning a restaurant, serving as a VP at Valley Forge Medical Center for over 20 years, working as controller for WIBG radio, to tap dancing on Broadway, Joe Pollock was truly a modern day renaissance man. At the time of his death, Joe was the Founder and CEO of ChemQuest Inc., a regional provider of drug and alcohol testing in the workplace.
Joe cherished planning family vacations around the world and spent many summer weekends sailing his catamaran at his beach home in Ocean City, NJ. He was an avid music lover, as his calendar never had a weekend without a jazz show or a visit to The Philadelphia Orchestra, where he was one of the first thousand season ticket subscribers over 50 years ago. The few times Joe was not enjoying family time, working, or planning his next home project, he was usually dining at the counter with his buddies at his version of Cheers, Bruno’s Restaurant.
Joe will be missed dearly by so many loved ones- his family and friends, and all the people throughout the community whose lives he touched. He will forever be remembered fondly, impeccably dressed head to toe and never without a classic timepiece on his wrist.
