Obituary of Betty Jane Harrison
On Wednesday, August 20, 2020, Betty Jane Harrison (nee Trommer), loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Russell.
She is survived by her three daughters, Betty Jane “BJ” Marshall (Glenn), Judith Romano (Michael), and Diane Wynne (John). She was grandmother to Jennifer Cohle (Devin), John Wynne III (Kate), Christopher Romano, Ashley Romano, Jeremy Marshall (Yuie) and a step-granddaughter; and great grandmother to Makenzie, Logan and Mason and two step great-grandchildren.
Betty Jane was a lifelong resident of Roxborough and was a member of the Palestine Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and VFW Ladies Auxiliary for 60 plus years. She was a member of the Oreland Evangelical Presbyterian Church and also was blessed to be a part of the church family of Park Avenue Community Church in New Jersey where her son-in-law is the pastor.
Betty Jane’s greatest joys in life came from being a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 56 years and a mother to their three daughters. Her grandchildren and great - grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her enthusiasm and excitement came from watching her grandchildren grow up and attending their football games, track meets, crew regattas, musical concerts, marching band competitions, school programs, Eagle Scout ceremonies and high school and college graduations. As her grandchildren grew into young adults their weddings and birth of great- grandchildren brought her much joy.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, August 26 from 10-11am at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Funeral service will begin at 11am. Interment at George Washington Memorial Park will be private.
