Kroupa, John Smedley "Jack", age 91, of Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell, formerly of Lafayette Hill, died Saturday, January 19, 2013. He was a retired Savings and Loan manager for Progress Federal Bank in Norristown. Beloved husband of Jean (Roemhild) for 66 years; loving father of three daughters and their spouses: Betsy and Bill Wells, Karen and the late Chic Ashworth, and Janet and Dan Farragut; special PopPop of John, Jeffrey, and Jane Farragut and Eric and Lauren Wells and her husband Shawn Mullin. Born in Philadelphia, PA , Jack served for four years in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Predeceased by his parents Venzil and Evelyn (Hadfield) Kroupa, his brother David, and his niece Beth (Kroupa) Gunn and her infant daughter, Trista. A memorial service will be held in the Normandy Farms Estates Auditorium on Saturday, January 26 at 11:00 A.M. Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 10:00 - 10:45 A.M. Interment private. Contributions in Jack's memory may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church (Bell Tower Fund), 3025 Church Road, Lafayette Hill, PA, 19444 or Normandy Farms Estates Samaritan Fund, 9000 Twin Silo Dr, Blue Bell, PA, 19422. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
